TWO PRIMAVERA HEALTH BILLS BECOME LAW
Written by Tom Parsons
Wednesday, 03 June 2009 15:45

SB 244, sponsored by State Representative Dianne Primavera [Broomfield] and State Senator Brandon Shaffer [D-Longmont], was signed into law by Gov. Ritter. This legislation requires insurance carriers to include in their covereage, the assessment and treatment of a range of disorders known as Autism Spectrum Disorders, thus increasing the chances that children diagnosed with an autism disorder can get the early treatment.

SB 133, sponsored by Rep. Primavera and State Senator Nancy Spence [R-Centennial] increases funding for the state Traumatic Brain Injury fund. This fund receives $$ from surcharges to traffic violations. SB 133 increase those surcharges – such as DWI – by $5. Anticipation is that this increase will allow 250 additional people to receive critical services.

REP. PRIMAVERA ADDRESSES MONTHLY MEETING
Written by Tom Parsons
Thursday, 21 May 2009 21:41

Rep. Dianne Primavera addressed the May General Meeting on the 13th. She reviewed the legislative session in which she successfully stood up for the "little guy" on several  health care bills. She said it was an exhausting session, with votes on 666 bills!

The Republicans may well spend large to defeat Democrats in districts in which they outnumber the Dems in registered voters. Her district, HD-33 is one such district. This sounds like everyone expects that she will seek re-election. In which case we will need to counteract the Republican money with our shoe leather hitting the streets for Dianne.

DEMOCRATS WORK - BROOMFIELD CLEANUP - MAY 17TH
Written by Tom Parsons
Thursday, 07 May 2009 13:36
Our Party rep for Democrats Work, Patti Car, has scheduled a Field cleanup for Sunday, May 17th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. She encourages people to bring a Democrats work ethic, some work gloves & water. As you may know, members of our Party have "adopted" the field, bordered by Main Street on its west side, as our Democrats Work project. We are fortunate to have someone as dedicated as is Patti to ram rod this show. Meet at the Bruner House [near Main and Midway] prepared to pick up trash that blew in over the winter. We gather at the farm house, partner up, and fan out to the north, east and south and make our labor contribution in the Party's name to the Broomfield Community. Be sure and proudly wear your Democrats Work tee shirt if you have one. See you there?
