COME MARCH IN THE PARADE WITH US - SEPT. 19TH
Written by Tom Parsons
Thursday, 17 September 2009 10:06

Our Party plans to have a large contingent marching in the Broomfield Days parade on Saturday, Sept. 19th. We invite our sisters and brothers from surrounding communities to join with us to show our support for President Obama. We marched together last fall, precinct by precinct, to turn Broomfield "blue" for Obama. Let's march again. Come out and show your support. This is a grass roots organization. Help us grow roots.

The parade is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., with staging starting at 9:00 on Lamar St., just north of the municipal bldg., in space #67. The parade will end at Midway Park near the tent-booth our Party will have set up on Midway Blvd., near the fire station, 2 blocks east of Hwy 287 [Wadsworth]. Look for us. Stop by and re-connect to friends.

STRONG MESSAGE SENT CONCERNING HEALTH CARE REFORM
Written by Tom Parsons
Monday, 31 August 2009 18:07
The Resolution that appears below was overwhelmingly adopted by the Executive Committee of the Broomfield County Democrats, on behalf of the Party. It appeared as written, and was read aloud on TV, by Ed Schultz, of The Ed Show, a news commentary show on MSNBC, on August 31st. If you have questions or requests regarding this matter, please direct them to Matt Gray, Chair of the Party - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or Tom Parsons, Publicity Chair - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Statement of Resolution

Be it resolved: The executive committee of the Broomfield County Democrats, on this date, on behalf of Party members across the county, declares its support for President Obama’s call for a robust Public Option health care plan, one that is an integral part of comprehensive reform that ensures that all in America have affordable access to quality basic health care, irrespective of health condition, socio-economic status, or employment status. The present opportunity for true health care reform that meets the above objectives is too fragile and too important to our nation for it to be lost to the politics of special interests.

It should be clear by this proclamation that all elected officials and candidates for office desiring the support of our Party, either financial or by ballot, must evidence clear support for this resolution as stated. This applies to our Democratic colleagues Senator Udall, Senator Bennet, and Representative Polis, as well as any other candidates seeking office in the City and County of Broomfield.

Adopted this 30th day of August, 2009.
